Solutions, made to order.

We pride ourselves in our ability to figure things out.

The fun part of the job is the challenge, and every company has its own unique requirements, resources and limitations. Having worked with world-leading tech companies, small local restaurants, and everything in between, makes us capable and prepared to take on just about anything.

This is a selection of some projects, each utilizing a different set of skills and deliverables.

Women of Wisdom

Booklet/Zine Design

Women of Wisdom (WOW) is a community of sisterhood for HIV positive women in the greater Portland area. We designed a book/zine that could welcome and support a newly diagnosed woman, letting her know there is support. The book contains the stories of several of the current members as well as basic information about HIV+AIDS. We also put out a HIV 101 Flyer and the book for World AIDS Day December 1 (Full Book)

US Army Corps Dredge Data

Wireframes and Mockups

Worked with US Army Corps of Engineers to solve a major user experience issue they were having when it came to gathering and entering dredging data (that means sludge on ships!). Previously a manual process, but now a more streamlined automated monitoring of dredge activities that provide quality near-real-time data for USACE dredging projects.

Quantum Spatial

UX AND PRODUCT DESIGN

Quantum Spatial is a great example of a highly technical software product, in a field which has not yet embraced design. Much of their software, and competitions, looks quite spartan and dated. By bringing modern thinking, product design, and focusing on user-centered behavior, their software is quickly becoming the most easy to use, and quickest to deliver results, in the industry. (Site)

Quest Center

Virtual Fundraising Campaign

Much like everyone this year, Quest Center for Integrative Health, adjusted to go virtual in 2020; this included their fundraiser! I was asked to help create the look and feel as well as all digital assets for the event in three months. The project included an instagram takeover. I had — and continue to have — a great time working with this team.

Ichiza Kitchen

GRAPHIC DESIGN AND PRODUCTION

As one of the hottest up-and-coming restaurants in the Portland vegan food scene, Ichiza Kitchen has grown into a fantastic brand with a cult following. We were there from the start, designing the menus, website and other print collateral. As they’ve grown we have continued to help keep their unique, friendly, and honest nature alive. (Site)

Smockville Montessori

Branding & Website REfresh

Keeping it local. Helping our daughter’s Montessori preschool refresh their look and feel was really rewarding. This great non-profit already had a great logo they wanted to keep as well as a color and typeface. I’ve also had way too much fun branching out into the merch world a bit. Giving families and staff a way to show their school/community pride! (Site)

CBDFC

Website

When the photos are this wonderful, putting together a website is easy! Besides playing matchmaker for copy and images for this joyful website, we needed to have a spot for new memberships and PayPal donations. (Site)

Pence Northwest

BRANDING AND DESIGN STRATEGY

A small business setting themselves apart in an impacted market. At Pence Northwest, we had the opportunity to give a construction company a total brand makeover. Bucking the dull and sterile designs rampant in the industry, we helped give them a fresh, vibrant identity, which still keeps to their rugged roots in contracting. (Site)

SpiderOak

Design Leadership

Working with an agile team of designers and technologists, at SpiderOak we lead the design process to develop new products, and improve existing ones. By strategizing with their CTO, building an in-depth understanding of their current products, and competitive analysis of the security industry, we were able to identify and execute on a file-sharing offering, while revamping their aesthetic to develop a unified platform.

Crittercism

UX AND PRODUCT DESIGN

Visualizing large quantities of complex data in an easy and intuitive way is always a fantastic challenge. At Crittercism we not only created a visual brand identity which became quickly recognized within the industry, we also led the APM industry in intuitive and insightful data design. Many of the prioritization methods we produced have become industry standards, widely adopted in the APM industry.
